Christmas In July (in December) and Christmas proper

I have been remiss in posting a wonderful exchange I received from Cheryl in my Friends In Threads group - from back in July! We had a 'Christmas in July' exchange between the two of us, and here are the beautiful pieces she sent me:
Noel Pillow - red velvet fabric
Christmas humbug ornament
Close-up of pillow

Cheryl also included a cute penguin photo holder, three skeins of Christmas Threadworx floss, and kit to make a reindeer gift bag.

We also held a Christmas ornament exchange this December, and this is the lovely stitching I received from Laura:
Christmas exchange from Laura
This sweet lamb was the first piece she stitched, and was offered the kind opinions of her family that it might be a 'bit too big' for an ornament - so she sent it to me as a bonus. Here it sits inside a vintage embroidery hoop - I love it!

Laura also sent me a zippered humbug bag - I don't have the picture of that right now, but inside it was a very tasty Godiva chocolate bar and some candy canes. I love (as Winnie the Pooh would say) a 'useful pot' - only mine is in fabric form and will work well for stitchy supplies.

Thank you to my stitching friends. I hope everyone had a blessed Merry Christmas, as we march up to the end of 2012!

Take care, Nancy

My most recent exchanges have come through Hooked on Exchanges - Christmas ornaments. From Janet, I received this cute Heart in Hand snowman, Mr. Byrd, for the bird ornament theme:
And Kathy, of the well-photographic Rory the Irish Setter, sent me this wonderful PS angel for our PS exchange:
My tree will look so festive!
